The sexual health team at Manchester Mental and Social Care Trust, working alongside the specialist midwifery service, provide a range of materials for the Manchester Maternity Hospitals about 'Sexual Health and HIV in Pregnancy'. Their previous materials were outdated and they required updated information for both maternity staff and the public to cover topics including HIV testing, management of women found to be HIV positive in pregnancy, follow up care and getting support and resources.
Sunny Thinking was given the challenging commission to design a family of materials for this highly sensitive subject matter. Our solution was to incorporate an illustration of a mother and baby, entwined within the highly recognisable and iconic red ribbon on the covers of all the materials and develop a suite of materials that had a very sensitive, warm and approachable tone. We produced the main 'Sexual Health and HIV in Pregnancy' booklet for hospital staff and a series of information leaflets for the public including a version translated in to French.
